Trey Murphy III locked up Jonathan Kuminga and scored the game-winning basket as the New Orleans Pelicans topped the Golden State Warriors 80-79 to improve to 4-0 in summer league play.
Unfortunately, the Pelicans one-point margin of victory wasn’t enough to get spot in the MGM Resorts Summer League championship game.
The Pels entered Sunday night’s game against the Warriors needing to win by 11 points to advance. New Orleans had won its first three games by an average of 15 points.
Sunday night was a bit different, going down to the wire.
