New Orleans forward Terrence Jones has been playing very well of late, keying Tuesday’s win at Philadelphia with 17 points and 10 rebounds, followed by a 17-point outing the next night against Oklahoma City. Just when Jones was making some of his most important contributions off the bench for the Pelicans (10-21), however, he’ll be sidelined for Friday’s home game vs. Miami (10-20). Alvin Gentry said prior to tip-off that Jones missed shootaround this morning due to illness and is unavailable against the Heat.
“He had nausea and stomach problems so he won’t be playing tonight,” Gentry said of Jones.
