Terrence Jones agrees to deal with New Orleans Pelicans

Free-agent forward Terrence Jones has agreed to sign a one-year contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to league sources.

The Pelicans, as it stands, can only offer a one-year minimum contract, but sources say New Orleans is working to create sufficient financial wiggle room to get Jones' 2016-17 into the $1.5 million range.

Sources said that Jones received at least one other offer Thursday, reportedly paying him more money, but the chance to reunite with former Kentucky teammate Anthony Davis ultimately swayed the former Houston Rockets player to the Pelicans.
