There were a wide range of reasons why New Orleans qualified for a playoff berth this spring for the first time in four years, but if you’re looking for a single turning point to the Pelicans’ 2014-15 season, it may have been Feb. 20. Just prior to the NBA’s trade deadline, New Orleans acquired Cole in a deal that was largely overlooked across the league, as bigger names and starting point guards including Goran Dragic, Brandon Knight and Michael Carter-Williams changed addresses.
