It’s often challenging to find talented big men in the NBA, but the New Orleans Pelicans’ abundant options at the power forward and center positions made it more difficult for Withey to get on the court in his second pro season than it was in his first. With Anthony Davis (36.1 minutes per game), Ryan Anderson (27.5), Omer Asik (26.1) and Alexis Ajinca (14.1) combining to log in the neighborhood of 100 minutes a night, there wasn’t much of a role available to a fifth big.
