2014-15 OVERVIEW
Much like his well-documented and rapid seven-inch growth spurt in high school, Davis continued to make amazing progress as a third-year pro. For the second straight summer, the power forward reported to Pelicans training camp as a dramatically improved player. After making the leap from All-Rookie to All-Star in 2013-14, this time Davis made the even more difficult jump from All-Star to All-NBA performer. He finished fifth in the NBA’s Most Valuable Player vote, becoming the youngest top-five finisher since Kevin Durant was a runner-up five years ago at age 21.
