When the New Orleans Pelicans signed Kendrick Perkins earlier this week many fans went into a panic. After watching Monty Williams try out five man bench units and anything Austin Rivers related over the last few years, those fans were automatically conditioned to worry about the ways that Perkins could find his way onto the floor and ruin the fun the Pelicans are sure to produce this season.
Then many took a deep breath and remembered that Monty Williams is no longer the head coach of the Pelicans and were able to calm down knowing that Alvin Gentry won’t make the same mistakes.
