When basketball players talk about a “brick,” it’s usually in reference to an ugly shot that bounds hard off the backboard or rim, an errant and embarrassing attempt to score. But when New Orleans point guard Tim Frazier speaks of that object, he’s referring to the heavy weight of trying to make it in the NBA, while knowing every minute and possession can swing a player’s future.
The 6-foot-1 point guard has spent two precarious years trying to prove he belongs and cement a job, amid 10-day contracts and multiple call-ups from the D-League. Finally, on July 22, the 25-year-old officially gained a better long-term foothold, signing a two-year contract with the Pelicans.
