The history of big men duo’s in the NBA is as vast as it is great. Twin Towers used to roam the court, striking fear into opposing players.
Two bigs dominating the game when the floor was cramped and the pace was slower. Shots closer to the rim were valued the most and those are the shots that two large men are best at stopping.
Then, the court get more spread out, people started to shoot more three’s, post-ups became a lost art, and speed became more important than strength. When running down the death of two big lineups it sounds more like the end of a society than the gradual change of gameplay.
