Trade rumors have circulated the Pelicans stratosphere since as early as November, though they made no significant moves. Meanwhile, the Pistons looked strong and determined at the start of the year, and chose to shake up their roster and gun for the playoffs.
Playing a team with as many shake-ups as the Pistons has positives and negatives. On one hand, the Pelicans will be able to take advantage of the fact that they are still adjusting and molding new players to their unique system. On the other hand, nothing fires-up a player like being traded to a new team, and the Pelicans have had effort issues with their players since the start of the season.
