Warriors (1-0), Pelicans (0-1)
OAKLAND – New Orleans only had nine players in uniform for Tuesday’s regular season opener, and by the third quarter one of them – starting forward Dante Cunningham – was back in the locker room being evaluated for a concussion. The Pelicans were going to need a multitude of things to go right in order to ruin the defending NBA champions’ ring night with an upset victory, but instead their early-season misfortune mostly continued. New Orleans couldn’t keep up with high-powered Golden State’s prolific attack, which was spearheaded by a monstrous Stephen Curry performance.
