Postgame: Timberwolves 112, Pelicans 110

Timberwolves (19-40), Pelicans (23-35)

Six days after Anthony Davis drew the attention of the basketball world by pouring in an NBA season-high 59 points at Detroit, the rest of New Orleans’ roster didn’t have the three-time All-Star to carry the load Saturday vs. Minnesota. The Pelicans got a combined 82 points from Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday, but it still wasn’t enough to overtake the Timberwolves. Minnesota used a 36-24 fourth quarter to rally back from a 10-point deficit. Davis was ruled out of Saturday’s game not long before tip-off, after he sustained a sprained big right toe during pregame warmups.
