Spurs (3-0), Pelicans (0-3)
SAN ANTONIO – The names have changed a bit, but San Antonio still looks like a fine-tuned machine early in 2016-17, something New Orleans witnessed first-hand Saturday at the AT&T Center. Despite resting longtime stalwarts Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili in the first game of a weekend back-to-back set, the Spurs kept the Pelicans at arm’s length during the first half, then kicked it into gear en route to a convincing victory. New Orleans wrapped up one of the most difficult back-to-backs possible with a loss, falling to Golden State and San Antonio, teams that went 73-9 and 67-15 last season, respectively.
