MINNEAPOLIS – New Orleans four-time All-Star Anthony Davis noted after Friday’s morning shootaround that he and fellow Kentucky product Karl-Anthony Towns share a brotherhood from playing for the same college program and coach, John Calipari. The pair of Western Conference “siblings” later each went on to put on an individual show, but the older brother and his team were a little bit better.
While second-year pro Towns erupted for 36 points, Davis finished with 42 points, the 13th time in his NBA career that he has eclipsed the 40-point plateau. As a result, New Orleans overcame what was a 15-point first-half deficit to completely turn around the game, going up by as many as 21 in the second half.
