Pelicans (19-28), Spurs (36-10)
When NBA teams say they believe they are capable of beating anyone, it often sounds like a cliché, like false bravado. Based on this week, however, the New Orleans Pelicans would be able to back up that statement with concrete evidence.
Four days after defeating defending NBA champion Cleveland, despite not having Anthony Davis available, New Orleans came from behind to overtake San Antonio, the Western Conference’s second-best team. The Pelicans had Davis this time, but it wasn’t a particularly great night for the four-time All-Star (Davis notched 16 points, 22 rebounds, but committed six turnovers).
