DeMarcus Cousins stole a Sacramento first-half pass, rapidly dribbled to the other end, dropped in a layup despite being fouled in mid-air, then gave a New Orleans fan behind the baseline a high-five. Cousins’ three-point play neatly summarized a Friday night that was infinitely enjoyable for the three-time All-Star, as well as the team’s supporters.
In his first game against his previous NBA team, Cousins racked up 37 points and 13 rebounds, leading a dominant victory. For the sixth straight time in the Smoothie King Center, Pelicans fans watched a win, a streak that dates back to a March 8 defeat to Toronto.
