Magic (5-7), Pelicans (2-10)
ORLANDO – With three-time All-Star forward Anthony Davis (quad contusion) sidelined for the first time this season and No. 2 weapon Jrue Holiday still a game away from making his 2016-17 debut, New Orleans needed numerous other Pelicans to play at a high level Wednesday in their stead. While the visitors did receive solid games from a couple starters and one reserve, it wasn’t enough on a night when New Orleans struggled to generate consistent offensive production. Orlando led by two entering the fourth quarter and still protected a slim edge in the final two minutes, but kept New Orleans off the scoreboard during a pivotal series of possessions.
