Lakers (6-4), Pelicans (1-9)
NBA games are 48 minutes long, with dozens of possessions for both teams, so it’s rare that one can identify a single turning point on any night. That wasn’t the case Saturday, when a third-quarter back injury to Anthony Davis seemed to completely change the momentum of a Western Conference matchup with the Lakers. After Davis scored a close-range basket, he clutched his lower back and ended up on the floor. He headed to the locker room and only missed five minutes of action, but the Lakers immediately went on a 14-0 run, turning a one-point edge into 15.
