Heat (33-35), Pelicans (27-41)
MIAMI – Seeking a third straight victory for the first time since December, New Orleans played Miami evenly for 40-plus minutes Wednesday, but was overtaken down the stretch by an unlikely source. The Heat are an average three-point shooting team and reserve James Johnson has never been a lethal threat from beyond the arc, but he canned two back-breakers late, helping lift Miami to a win.
Johnson’s clutch-time three-point accuracy was fitting on a night when the Heat shot 16/35 from deep, nearly doubling the number of makes by the Pelicans.
