Hawks (20-16), Pelicans (14-23)
Despite a monster double-double from Anthony Davis (20 points, 19 rebounds) – who produced 12 points and 11 boards in the fourth quarter alone – Atlanta came up with the biggest plays in crunch time, pulling out a road victory at the Smoothie King Center. Thursday’s interconference matchup was tied at 88 with less than two minutes left, but Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder drained a huge wing three-pointer, followed by a Paul Millsap mid-range jumper, for a 93-88 edge.
New Orleans heads back on the road for its longest trip of the 2016-17 regular season, beginning with a stop in Boston this weekend, followed by games at New York, Brooklyn, Chicago and Indiana.
