Postgame: Grizzlies 89, Pelicans 83 (OT)

Grizzlies (3-2), Pelicans (0-5)

MEMPHIS – Anthony Davis played at an All-NBA level in the first four games of the regular season, but several key teammates had struggled. On Wednesday, a few New Orleans role players came up with their finest performances of the young season, but Davis finally turned in a pedestrian individual game (10 points, seven rebounds). In a winnable contest against the Grizzlies, the Pelicans were again unable to put it all together, allowing Memphis to pull out an overtime win and keep New Orleans winless.

After what had been a grind-it-out affair that was tied at just 75 apiece through regulation, New Orleans went through an extended scoreless stretch, giving Memphis the opening it needed to take command of the game.
