Postgame: 76ers 99, Pelicans 88

76ers (5-18), Pelicans (7-16)

Philadelphia ended a 23-game road losing streak that dated back to January of last season, handing New Orleans a home defeat Thursday by dominating the second half. The Pelicans led 57-52 at halftime, but were held to just 12 points during a momentum-changing third quarter, allowing the 76ers to take a slim lead. Philadelphia stretched its advantage out to double figures by the final few minutes on the strength of some timely shots by Ersan Ilyasova and stingy late-game defense. New Orleans was playing without its starting backcourt Jrue Holiday and E’Twaun Moore, both out due to toe injuries, and couldn’t generate enough offense.
