Point guard adjustments continue for Pelicans entering home opener against Warriors

“Wanted: Experienced worker, preferably possessing preexisting familiarity with fellow employees and surroundings. May be needed immediately to take on formidable challenges, such as trying to slow down the NBA’s reigning MVP.”

If the New Orleans Pelicans had posted a wanted ad over the past 24 hours to help fill their 15th roster spot, the notice may have read something similar to that. On Friday morning, they signed veteran point guard Toney Douglas, whose resume checks off many of the hypothetical ad’s requirements. A seventh-year pro, Douglas played 12 games for New Orleans last season and now rejoins almost exactly the same group of players who comprised the 2014-15 roster.
