Playoffs are Possible with Current Roster

When the New Orleans Pelicans acquired DeMarcus Cousins last year, the expectation was to make a playoff push. In the 25 games after adding him though, the Pelicans went just 11-14. They ended the year 34-48, seven games back of a playoff spot.

Despite the underwhelming year, there weren’t many changes to the roster this offseason. Nevertheless, the Pelicans roster has playoff potential. What about them gives us postseason hope?

The two heavy-hitters are pretty obvious. Anthony Davis and Cousins will be the anchors down low. Both are elite-level shot-blockers and rebounders. They both have great mid-range games and can bully down low as well.
