Perhaps no one outside of Louisiana expected the Pelicans to be able to win on the Warriors’ home floor in the first two games of this first-round playoff series, but the manner in which they lost – with the outcome in doubt until the final minute – came as a bit of a surprise. Which explains why after Thursday morning’s shootaround, New Orleans two-time All-Star Anthony Davis was asked if the Pelicans have made progress in cracking the Warriors’ aura of “invincibility” by playing them so competitively.
“We’ve been pretty close both games,” Davis said. “It’s not like we lost by 20, 25 in either one of these games.
