CLEVELAND – During the first week of the regular season alone, New Orleans All-Star forward Anthony Davis tallied 50, 45 and 35 points in separate games, but the Pelicans lost each time, en route to an 0-8 start. Contrast that with the team’s recent four-game winning streak – Davis has scored in the 20s every night, yet the Pelicans (14-21) are thriving.
Based on those facts, it doesn’t take a basketball genius to figure out that New Orleans must be benefiting greatly from better performances lately across its rotation. In each of the past three victories – over Dallas, the Clippers and New York – six different Pelicans have reached double-digit scoring.
