There is always at least a glimmer of hope that fortune will smile upon a team when it participates in the NBA Draft Lottery, but that was not the case Tuesday night for the New Orleans Pelicans. After entering the event in the sixth “seat” of the lottery, the Pelicans’ status remained the same, as they were given the No. 6 pick in the draft, which takes place June 23. New Orleans entered the lottery with a 6.3 percent chance of moving all the way up to the No. 1 pick, but instead finished sixth.
