NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans released the following statement on the passing of Flip Saunders:
“The New Orleans Pelicans are sad to have lost a dear member of the NBA family and a remarkable individual. Flip Saunders was an inspiration to all of us. His widespread love of the game and extraordinary personal qualities will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saunders family and the Minnesota Timberwolves organization during this difficult time.”
