Pelicans sign Tony Allen to one year deal

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a one year minimum contract with former Memphis Grizzlies swingman Tony Allen according to reports from Shams Charania.

Free agent Tony Allen is finalizing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, league sources tell The Vertical.

Allen, an All-Defensive second team selection last season, will be expected to fill at least the "wing stopper" role vacated by Solomon Hill. A minimum contract for Allen clocks in around $2.3 million but will count just $1.
