Pelicans shootaround: Total of seven players out for Lexington preseason game

LEXINGTON – The star attractions for Bluegrass State hoops fans during Saturday’s New Orleans-Sacramento preseason game – Western Conference All-Stars and University of Kentucky products Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins – are expected to be on the floor at Rupp Arena, but a host of other Pelicans have been ruled out of action. Seven different New Orleans players, including 2014-15 starters Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Quincy Pondexter and Omer Asik, are sidelined by injuries. The Pelicans will also be without reserves Alexis Ajinca, Luke Babbitt and Norris Cole. As a result, New Orleans is expected to have just 12 players in uniform against the Kings.
