Alvin Gentry recently announced that New Orleans guard Tyreke Evans (right knee tendinitis) will be shut down until at least the All-Star break. Amid a recent report that Evans intends to undergo season-ending surgery, on Wednesday morning, after Pelicans shootaround, Gentry said that Evans’ status is to be determined.
“He’s seeing some specialists and getting some second opinions,” the first-year New Orleans head coach said. “We’ll see where that leads. That’s basically it right now.
“There is a possibility that it’s something that could keep him out the rest of the season. But we won’t know that until the opinions are gathered and the information is processed.
