MINNEAPOLIS – Both teams are on the outside looking in when it comes to the Western Conference playoff race, but there are still plenty of reasons to pay close attention to Monday’s matchup between New Orleans (18-32) and Minnesota (16-36). Three of them are Anthony Davis, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, a trio that represents the No. 1 overall picks from three of the past four NBA drafts (in between, Cleveland selected Anthony Bennett).
Although the game isn’t being broadcast nationally this time, NBA TV has picked up Pelicans-Timberwolves occasionally over the past two seasons, due to so much blossoming talent.
