Anthony Davis spent part of his off day Tuesday standing side-by-side with DeMarcus Cousins atop a Mardi Gras float during the Zulu parade, but he won’t have his new All-Star frontcourt partner on the floor with him Wednesday vs. Detroit. Cousins will be serving a one-game suspension against the Pistons, the result of a technical foul he picked up early in Sunday’s defeat to Oklahoma City. As a result, the Pelicans (23-37) will need to adapt and adjust while facing a Pistons team that features true center Andre Drummond and his burly backup, Aron Baynes.
“It’s just one of those things you have to live with,” Davis said after Wednesday’s morning shootaround, adding that he did not see the play that led to Cousins’ tech.
