Pelicans shootaround presented by HUB International: Priority on keeping Bucks out of paint

MILWAUKEE – Over the first two weeks of the regular season, New Orleans and Milwaukee have been part of the leaguewide trend to attempt more three-point shots, firing 24.4 and 25.1 per game, respectively. The problem has been that both teams are shooting treys at a below-average clip – the Bucks are tied for 22nd in the NBA at 32.4 percent, while the Pelicans are last at 27.7 (from a things-can-only-improve standpoint, it’s been five years since any team shot below 30.0 percent over a full season).

During Milwaukee’s 117-113 victory over New Orleans last week, however, the Bucks didn’t need great accuracy from long distance, because they did most of their damage around the basket.
