In-season New Orleans signee Donatas Motiejunas hasn’t played in an NBA game since an April 27 playoff defeat at Golden State, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the Pelicans will wait long before putting the fifth-year pro in their lineup. Alvin Gentry said Wednesday of Motiejunas that “if he dresses, there is a chance that he might play” in Thursday’s home tilt vs. Atlanta.
“He’ll probably play some and there will be spot minutes,” Gentry said of the 26-year-old’s short-term usage. “I don’t see him playing extended minutes (yet), because obviously he’s got to play himself into basketball shape.
