Pelicans shootaround presented by HUB International: Anthony Davis will play vs. Orlando

After taking a nasty fall to the Bankers Life Fieldhouse hardwood Monday, Anthony Davis had to leave the 98-95 loss at Indiana, having played just 23 minutes. Although Davis never returned to action against the Pacers, he said after Wednesday morning shootaround that he’s ready to play tonight vs. Orlando, in the opener of a six-game New Orleans homestand.

“Any time you fall like that, it’s always scary,” Davis said. “I’m just happy I’m OK. It could be a lot worse.”

Davis was sidelined by a right hip contusion and also sustained a left thumb sprain. He underwent X-rays in Indianapolis immediately after the injuries, but they came back negative.
