Pelicans shootaround presented by HUB International: Anthony Davis expects to play against Spurs

If it weren’t for bad luck, there are times health-wise when Anthony Davis would have no luck at all. That certainly again seemed to be the case Wednesday, when the four-time New Orleans All-Star was struck in exactly the wrong area by Oklahoma City’s Domantas Sabonis, bringing back the pain Davis felt from a right quad contusion.

The second-quarter blow by Sabonis forced Davis to exit the loss to the Thunder, and he did not return, but on Friday morning Davis said he expects to play vs. San Antonio.

“I forgot who it was, but he kind of kneed me in the exact spot again, and aggravated it again,” Davis said of Sabonis rising for a shot and inadvertently dealing a hit to the leg.
