Pelicans shootaround: Jrue Holiday staying patient amid minute restriction

CHICAGO – Asked recently if he likes the way Jrue Holiday has looked during training camp and preseason, Alvin Gentry good-naturedly expressed mock exasperation at what he deemed an extremely obvious question. Gentry and the Pelicans have been very pleased by Holiday’s time on the floor, as the point guard works on getting back to full strength from the leg injury that’s hampered him the past two seasons.

While on a 10-minute restriction during preseason, Holiday has played well in first-quarter-only stints of New Orleans’ first two games, averaging 7.0 points. Although from watching the third-year Pelican play it appears Holiday is back to full strength, he and the team are taking a cautious approach.
