Pelicans seeking to move ball better and shoot higher percentage in second preseason game

JACKSONVILLE – In its preseason opener last weekend at Indiana, New Orleans made 37 baskets from the field during a 110-105 win, but only 16 of those hoops were assisted. The Pelicans fired 103 attempts against the Pacers, but only 35.9 percent of those looks found the bottom of the net. As the Pelicans prepared for Friday’s preseason game No. 2 vs. Atlanta, those were two areas (passing and shooting accuracy) where Alvin Gentry hoped to see improvement.

“I think we have to have a little better ball movement,” Gentry said. “For 110 points, I think we only had 16 assists.
