The New Orleans Pelicans have missed the NBA Playoffs all too often with Anthony Davis. The disappointment following the first round loss to Golden State was a stepping stone for a young team. A few “young veteran” additions to the roster were made, but the team missed the playoffs once again. A couple trades for Cousins and Mirotic led the Pelicans to a series win over Portland. This year, they again failed to make the top eight.
The roster churn of the NBA’s middle class can be hard to predict. Will a low seed decide to tank? Will a young, ascending team decide to make roster moves to secure a postseason appearance?
