On last night’s local WDSU news broadcast, Fletcher Mackel reported Mickey Loomis, the team president of the New Orleans Pelicans, is leaning towards keeping both Dell Demps, the general manager, and Alvin Gentry, the head coach, for another season.
With another abysmal start to kick off a regular season schedule, Demps and Gentry found themselves quickly on the hot seat during the 2016-17 campaign. The Pelicans were in the midst of fading from another playoff picture when they made the league’s biggest earthshaking deal before the NBA trade deadline during the All-Star break.
