Pelicans need better bench performance this time vs. Wizards

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Asked during pregame Saturday how much Washington (29-20) is focusing on trying to limit four-time All-Star forward/center Anthony Davis tonight, Wizards first-year head coach Scott Brooks pointed out that Davis got his points (36) in the head-to-head matchup last weekend, but perhaps a bigger key to the 107-94 road win was that the Pelicans’ bench had an unproductive game. Entering Saturday, New Orleans (19-31) ranks fourth in the NBA this season in bench scoring, while Washington is just 29th, but during the Jan. 29 game at the Smoothie King Center, Pelicans reserves only bested their Wizards counterparts 20-11.
