ORLANDO – Excluding a Dec. 18 rout in Phoenix that led to what Alvin Gentry described as a “livid” reaction postgame by the head coach, New Orleans has had a chance in the fourth quarter to win every road game it’s played since late November. Although the Pelicans are just 2-5 in away games since Dec. 1 – the date Tyreke Evans and Norris Cole made their 2015-16 season debuts – their other losses have been by margins of seven, four, four and six points, respectively. The most recent was an overtime defeat to Miami on Christmas.
As a result, the Pelicans (10-20 overall, 7-6 home, 3-14 road) are hopeful that they’re only a few plays away from turning some of those defeats into victories.
