According to multiple reports, the New Orleans Pelicans have released veteran power forward Josh Smith after just 2 weeks with the ball club. Throughout his time with the franchise Smith garnered just 12 minutes of playing time, accumulating only 2 points, 4 rebounds and 3 fouls.
The signing of Smith in the beginning was a little confusing, as he has not had a productive season since the 2014-15 campaign. Couple that with the fact that the Pelicans posses quite the logjam up front and you have a massive head scratcher. With the underwhelming performance of Smith, as well as the Pelicans “win-now” approach to the season, it’s no wonder NOLA parted ways with the soon to be 32 year-old.
