A slow start turns into a big loss as NOLA drops their 2nd game in a row. An underwhelming 19 point first quarter, compared to 37 in favor of the Nuggets was just too much of a deficit to handle for the Pelicans. Denver went on to dominate New Orleans for 4 quarters until they wound up scoring a league high 146 points.
At the beginning of the second half it seemed as though New Orleans still had a chance. Trailing by only 8 at the start of the third, hope was not lost. However, once Anthony Davis left after just 1 minute into the quarter (concussion), hope had inevitably dissipated.
