DeMarcus Cousins has officially been traded to the New Orleans Pelicans. It still feels like a fever dream but I woke up this morning and it was still true. Much of the ink spent analyzing this trade has focused on how Boogie fits with Anthony Davis. There are going to be rough edges to sand down as two ball dominant big men learn to co-exist in many of the same locations. Alvin Gentry’s coaching accumen will be severely tested as expectations have gone from mediocrity to super team levels. Yes, it is certainly possible Gentry is not the right coach for the job.
