NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has assigned rookie forward Cheick Diallo to the Long Island Nets of the NBA Development League, pursuant to the flexible assignment system.
Diallo, 6-9, 220, has been assigned twice previously this season to the Austin Spurs. In nine games for Austin, Diallo has averaged 12.0 points on .511 shooting from the floor, 6.0 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 23.3 minutes.
Originally selected by the L.A. Clippers with the 33rd overall pick out of the University of Kansas in the 2016 NBA Draft, Diallo has appeared in six regular season games for New Orleans, averaging 6.
