Approaching the midpoint of what’s been a historic individual season in several ways, it’s a virtual lock that New Orleans forward Anthony Davis will be named an NBA All-Star for the fourth consecutive year. The only question now is, when the Western Conference starters are announced in the Smoothie King Center on Feb. 19, will Davis’ name be among them?
When the league unveiled the initial returns from fan All-Star voting Thursday afternoon, Davis was just outside the top three among West frontcourt players (three frontcourt players and two backcourt players will comprise the starting lineups for the East and West at the conclusion of voting).
