For a change, the New Orleans injury report includes a piece of positive news. After missing the past four games since spraining his right ankle early in Anthony Davis’ 59-point eruption at Detroit, Pelicans center Omer Asik will be back in uniform tonight vs. Utah.
“He’ll play tonight,” Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry said, while adding that Asik will always be a starter whenever he is available to play.
As a result of Asik being able to play, New Orleans (23-37) likely will not add to its lengthy list of already using 28 different starting lineups in 60 games.
