WASHINGTON, D.C. – It wouldn’t be the New Orleans Pelicans if there weren’t some unfortunate injury news, so even though Anthony Davis provided the highlight of the 2015-16 season with a 59-point effort Sunday, there still was a negative development health-wise from the win at Detroit. Fellow starting big man Omer Asik sustained a right ankle sprain in the first quarter and could miss the next several games, according to Alvin Gentry.
“It was a little better than we thought after a day of seeing how it was going to respond,” Gentry said tonight during pregame of Asik, who is wearing a walking boot.
